Card Design

Geoff says,

The card design this year for me was somewhat in the middle. The base and rookies to me did not have that high end feel to them. I still have Parkhurst base running through my mind looking at the design for this years cup. I will say some of the other cards such as the Stanley Cup Autographs like our Roy is just beautiful in person and I love the design of most of the other inserts such as the Quad Patches and Chirography. As stated before I am just not sure this years design made it look like the premium product it is supposed to be.

Dan says,

I'm in the middle for this year's card design. Some of the cards I feel looked like other sets, for example, the triple patch of the Sharks that we opened somewhat reminds me of a Parkhurst look. Overall I do like the look of the cards this year but it's not my favorite, the first year of the Cup has been my favorite so far.

Fun Factor

Geoff says,

For the last 3 years I will say The Cup is most definately 1 of if not the most favourite product to open. It is made for the high-end gamblers and it will give you lots to cheer about. There is always a big possibility of hitting a big card in each pack and really what more could you ask for.

Dan says,

I really enjoyed opening this product this year because I know that we will most likely hit something big when having two cases to open. The best thing was that we only received one redemption which was great because you don't want to look at plain white cards all the time. So far every year I have looked forward to The Cup and it hasn't disappointed me in the fun factor yet.

Value

Geoff says,

This year had great value for a case break. As always this is one of the most risky pack per pack breaks but generally they do very well to make sure a case will get your money back. After looking at what we opened it should not be any troubles to recoup the majority of our money and maybe make some as well. As you can tell from our case breaks though, one hit can really make your case that much better (Toews Patch /99) and give you a great value, but without that....look out!

Dan says,

The value was here and there for The Cup this year. Some of the cards like the Roy, Lemieux, Kariya, and Toews make a good value but other cards like the base and some of the rookies, those may not be as valuable as you would like them to be with this expensive product. From what we opened I liked the value but if we didn't open a full case and only opened 1 pack from one of the two cases, there's a good possibility that I may be disappointed with the value.

Collation Damage

Geoff says,

I do not have much to say on this part other than having 2 Cam Ward Scripted Swatches /25 in one case but it could be much worse. Other than that the damages not noticable in our cases and there was only 1 redemption so really how can you beat that?

Dan says,

The collation was pretty good, the only two things that I didn't like were the two Cam Wards Scripted Swatches in one case and the fact that there were no printing plates in the second case but I would rather have the Toews and Crosby then two printing plates. From what I saw there was no significant damage to any of the cards. Some have minor nicks here and there but overall they did a good job with the extra packing on the sides.

Overall Rating

Geoff says, <p>I have always liked this product and still think it delivers a very good bang for your buck. It gives the high-end collectors some amazing cards and also gives every other collector a reason to save and maybe try just one tin for that big hit. I was really happy with our two cases and only look forward to next years.</p>

Dan says, <p>I liked this years Cup even though I wasn't as excited for this one then I was for other years but I did look forward to it. I'm not sure why I wasn't that excited for the two cases but it was fun to open and I always enjoy opening the product when there's a chance of opening a big card like the Toews or even a 1/1 Shield.</p>
